The word out of Durham is that Martynas Pocius will undergo season-ending surgery on his left ankle and right buttock as early as Wednesday.
He originally injured the left ankle in international play back in Lithuania over the summer. His right buttock he injured catching splinter after splinter to his tail piece as a result of hitting that bench so much this year.
I mean how many minutes did that cat average, 5 per? Damn. We have a guard happy team and Marty wasn’t getting nary a sniff of time. It’s kind of hard with Hendo, Paulus, Markie, Scheyer, Singler, Smith and King in front of him. Minutes are going to be a beast as the competition picks up.
Anyway, I like Marty’s game a lot and wish him well. He’s a good cat, very athletic and solid skills. His time will come at Duke but that medical redshirt will do him and the program right. Good call errr get well.
