Zoubek breaks his foot again?

Damn. This cat Zoub just can’t catch a break.

Well, maybe “catch a break” wasn’t the best way to say it, but you know what I mean. I said it before that Duke should go to the small ball express this year because it suits the Duke personnel. At this point, we literally don’t have any other option. Zoubs will probably be back in 6 to 8 weeks, but his fitness may not be back this summer. Remember, we’re talking about a 7-2 guy who is just learning how to get his touches and score the thing on this level.

At any rate, this all but seals Duke’s fake against Balco T and the rest of the Tar Heels.

Duke will fight the good fight, but it’s hard to stop one of the best big men in the country, with solid reserves to boot, with a few 6-8 guys who would rather play on the perimeter anyway.

I guess it’s all up to the curly gangsta, David McClure to try to put that Connecticut thug life on display.

Tough.

I guess Big Zoub didn’t break it after all.  He just aggravated a previous break and will be out 1 to 3 weeks.  Good news for the boys in blue.

Duke injury woes continue: Down goes McClure

Awwww, not again, the curly headed gangsta also known in some circles as the gentlemanly thug, Dave McClure, just had surgery on his knee putting him out of action for 6-8 weeks.

Seriously, Duke just can’t get a break. First Big Brian Zoubek, the would be answer for our deficiencies in the post goes down. Then the captain and only senior, Markie Nelson hits the skids with yet another injury, this time, on his non shooting hard and now this.

What can you do? Duke is supposed to be better this year, but I’m not so convinced. What I do know is that the ACC is way down, so the wins and losses are certain to change up.

At any rate, here’s to a speedy recovery for our boy Dave McClure who definitely seems like a good cat.
